Al Fahim Group earns Labour Happiness Award

The Al Fahim Group has received one of the first-ever Labour Happiness Awards from the Ministry of Human Resources & Emiratization (MOHRE) earning the top prize in the ‘Best Activities and Initiatives’ category thanks to the various social and corporate events that it organises for its staff and management to enjoy together.

The Labour Happiness Awards were presented by HE Saqr Ghobash, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratization and HE Ohoud Al Roumi, Minister of State for Happiness to Mr. Mohammad Abdulla A. J. Al Fahim, Group Head of Business Planning & Performance, at Saadiyat Worker’s Village.

The judging committee were said to be particularly impressed by the number of events Al Fahim Group organises, and how heavily involved the various members of the Al Fahim family are in many of them.

Along with regular sporting and social events, the fun-loving firm also holds its Long Service Awards every year where the Executive Board recognise the hard work and commitment of its longest serving members of the team. Moreover, Al Fahim Group’s efforts in ensuring compliance of all health and safety measures through various internal workshops were recognized.

Mohammad Abdulla Al Fahim said: “This is a particularly pleasing award as it reflects some of the core values Al Fahim Group truly believes in and strives to demonstrate every single day.

“At Al Fahim Group we aim to set the standards that raise us above our competitors and one way we do this is through developing and enthusing our people. By encouraging healthy relationships in the workforce through various activities, we improve performance which has proven to lead to greater productivity across the group.”

The Happiness Awards are a new initiative introduced by MOHRE in conjunction with the National Happiness and Positivity Charter to recognise and reward firms which strive to promote an enjoyable workplace for their staff.

Al Fahim Group was presented the award after showing representatives from MOHRE its full calendar of employee events and initiatives such as, basketball tournaments for staff teams against Al Fahim family members, BBQs, company Iftars and charity appeals. Additionally, more corporate-style events included CEO talks, engagement surveys, environmental awareness efforts, health and safety workshops, and its own recognition awards.

Moath Hussein, Chief Support Services Officer, said: “The committee highly appreciated the Group’s commitment to the happiness and well-being of employees, but they were also impressed by how involved the Al Fahim family are in our calendar of events and that is something I know all of our staff value a great deal.

“This award is special to us as it signifies a new achievement towards our employees’ happiness and shows our commitment and loyalty to them. This comes from the vision of the founding father, the second generation of the family, the direction of our Chairman and the Board of Management.”
