Emirates Motor Company (EMC), the Mercedes-Benz authorized distributor in the emirate of Abu Dhabi and the flagship company of Al Fahim Group, has launched the new model of its premium full-sized luxury SUV Mercedes-Benz GLS in the emirate of Abu Dhabi. The activation took place in both Yas Mall and Al Ain.
Widely touted to be the ‘S-Class of SUVs’, the full-fledged seven-seater boasts a spacious design that combines luxury with impressive levels of comfort, agile dynamics and best-in-class safety features.
With a peak output of 430 kW (585 hp), the Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 4MATIC is the full size fastest seven-seater in the world – reaching 0-100 kmph sprint in 4.6 seconds.
Nassim Mourani, General Manager of Emirates Motor Company (EMC) Passenger Cars, said: “We are delighted to launch the new model of Mercedes-Benz GLS in the Abu Dhabi market. The new model is designed to offer uncompromising power, premium luxury, generous space and a superior driving experience – under all conditions both on and off the road.”
He added: “With the introduction of the new GLS, EMC is set to further increase its market share in the SUV segment where we have witnessed 17% increase in the sales of G Class, GLK and GLC during H1 2016 compared to the same period last year. We are confident that the new SUV will be as well received as its predecessors in this high-traction automobile market.”
With the launch of the coveted SUV, EMC seeks to leverage the continued popularity and success of the Mercedes-Benz brand in Abu Dhabi to increase its overall sales volume. While Mercedes-Benz CLA and GLA achieved 49% increase in sales in H1 2016, its compact executive model Mercedes-Benz C-Class has seen 7 % increase in sales and the highest volume of sales in all categories at EMC. EMC also reported 31.3% increase in the sales of SLK, the compact luxury roadster from Mercedes-Benz.
Additionally, S- Cabriolet, which is currently available across EMC showrooms, has experienced high uptake from customers and advances in open-air driving comfort.
Its advanced climate control adapts automatically to the top position, and the AIRCAP system quells top-down turbulence even at highway speed. The AIRSCARF wraps your neck and shoulders in warm air, to turn a chilly evening into a cozy one.
