Emirates Motor Company Passenger Cars (EMC PC), the authorised distributor of Mercedes-Benz in the emirate of Abu Dhabi and the flagship company of ALFAHIM Group, has announced its support for the region’s first ever Derby Class the CSI4* Al Shira’aa International Horse Show 2019.
Set to run from 9 to 12 January at the Al Forsan Equestrian Centre in Abu Dhabi, Al Shira’aa International Horse Show will draw the participation of the best show jumpers from around the world.
Always popular among spectators,, Derby classes are designed to reward brilliance and test the ability of the rider and the horse to overcome narrower fences of varying height, as well as ditches, gates, banks, walls and hedges. The jumps are designed to resemble the types of obstacles a horse and rider might encounter if they were traversing open country.
Leveraging its presence as the title sponsor of the event, EMC will deploy three brand new Mercedes cars at Al Shira’aa International Horse Show including a GT 4-door at the Mercedes stand, an AMG G63 in the VIP area, and a GLA 220 at Al Shira’aa Arena that will be awarded to the lucky winner of the Derby race.

Al Shira’aa International Horse Show comprises four days of top-quality show-jumping. The schedule includes classes for young horses, juniors, children and young riders, as well as five four-star ranking classes. The event culminates with the Longines Al Shira’aa Grand Prix.
Offering free entry, visitors are invited to enjoy the competition at Al Shira’aa Arena or participate in family friendly activities in Al Shira’aa Village that will host games for children, pony rides, a parkour fitness workshop, gourmet food trucks and designer tack shops.
